Hey there alex, its great to see your writing and hearing your story... listexcia is a bitch but ive heard that 9 out of 5 pilots also suffer from it... So I feel that im in great company doing what I do...I have to pass a medical every 6 months. I get to do the dreaded eye chart. My Dr. said that my vision is nearly perfect but the order is all f-ed up... I laugh and He told me that Im KO now. Proctor did help me too. I had no Idea that so many of us had the problems we did... I also remember Joci Elliot who posted above and realized when I wred her post how truly lucky we all are that we had people to recognize our difficulties and help us out.... I too love backspace and have joked a bit hear but typing can be a bitch... You go girl.
My lady is a old time CSA farmer and a gardener, landscape designer and shes my spell check I interrupt her all the time...." honey how do you spell..." rings through the house when Im working....
Keep up the good work.
Nice hearing your voice from accross the contrie.
Laughing over here.

Hey - I remember you well from Proctor, & am so happy to see your writing online. I think it's ultra-cool for you to not let your dyslexia hold you back, and live with it as fully as you do! Keep up the good work - you're inspiring!

You have dyslexia, I have dyscalculia & am working for a bank! You never know where your path will take you. Best to embrace what's so and walk proudly with that limp.
Congrats on the name change Ms. Jump.

Wow, I came to your site to find out about purchasing a merino fleece, and the dyslexia attracted me. To be honest, I had no problem reading anything you wrote. I was raised to think that a lot of spelling had to do with vision (which was how I was taught to read by my folks.) Words that are misspelled, don't bother me, because I know what the basic word looks like; and dealing with the messenger, is just an excuse for prejudice.

In my family, dyslexia was not looked at as a problem, just a difference, as we were taught that there was more to life than reading and writing. My cousin Vera (a mechanic)is dyslexic, but she's the go to person for anything electrical or mechanical; her hand/brain connection is blessed. She reads symbols and shapes. As kids, I thought she was smarter than me, 'cause she could read words upside down and spelled backwards.

I think we place far too much emphasis on spelling, instead of meaning, which is why other cultures have such a problem with English, and schools routinely fail kids. You have five senses, but we only use two.

Vera kids are upset with her, cause she's the one parent who can read their text messages––the symbols and words like il b n b4 mom, l8tr, makes perfect sense. They can't put anything over on her.LOL!

Hey, I'll come back to the site, and if anyone has a problem with your writing, they can correct it themselves! L8tr 4 them! :-)

There's dyslexia then there's typing. I cn't type without the spacebar, backspace, delete and spell check either. I may have a higher rate of success, but I correct fo everysingle time and have never once spelled actviities right. I also cofuse purple and orange and routinely forget my age..maybe that's the issue :)
But what is the real question? Cn we read without perfect spelling and know exactly what the message is or do we need to avoid, defuse, or negate the message by getting caought up in the messanger. Its a plesant relief to not have so many rules...thanks for the freedom to just write.
