Saying good bye to an old friend.

Cory

Cory called out a greeting as I went up to the pasture last night. She knows the time and routine and lead the flock to the gate. Down the road and back to the barn, she was first.

She is pushy and loud and has a 24 micron creamy yellow fleece. She has had 5 lambs in 6 years. She is wrinkled, looses her tags and is tough to catch. She will come to a bucket of rocks if she thinks there is a chance there is food.

Jason continues to suckle her when he can snag a chance. He will be a little lost for a while and will need extra attention. All lambs do when they are weaned. It is time though and I think she will be going to a good home. An experienced shepherd with different breeds. Romneys and some other long wool type that I can’t recall.

The Vet bill for our annual flock visit and rabies vaccine, plus heath certificate was 115.00. Selling Cory covers that cost, plus a little back out to cover Washington costs. Not the reason for selling her, but it helps.

Cory’s new shepherd is scheduled to come by in the early afternoon. She will leave today for her new place.

It will be strange not to have her here.
