I am so excited that the sweater is done. The sheep all checked it out and knocked it over a few times. Wu was a little afraid of it. The pattern on the front is also the pattern on the sleeves. it took a while to get the sleeve to come up into the shoulder the way I wanted. I have the pattern pretty much written and have to make the adjustments for the sleeves and the neck. Then I have to get the grafts done and make two other sizes. I will need someone to proof the pattern. I now have 2 sweaters, 1 vest, 3 hats, and a scarf that need to get ready for publishing. I will most likely knit both the sweaters one or two more times.
Oh now I am overwhelmed. So I will just focus on the fact that I got the sweater done. Yeah.

Ugh. I am so green with envy for the folks who are gearing up for the festival this weekend. My buddy Barb and I were planning to go, since forever. Had our room booked, had worked out which sheep were going down with us. Oh the fantasy.
The American Sheep Industry legislative meeting in Washington is next week. I would have to leave the festival in Maryland to turn around and fly down to DC a day or two later. Tried to figure out how I was going to milk my stay and just be down there straight through, but with livestock, that was not going to happen.
The ASI trip is something that I am really looking forward too. I arrive in DC on Wednesday and there is a BBQ that night with industry leaders, ASI folk and legislators. Peter Welch, our Vt. Jr. Representative RSVP that he was bringing 10 of his staffers to the event. I guess they all like lamb. I will meet with him on Thursday and with Senator Bernie Sanders. Senator Patrick Leahy has been difficult to get and appointment with, which is too bad because he is on Ag. committee. On Friday there are meetings with the USDA folk. Then Friday afternoon and evening off. I will return Saturday and hopefully make the NH Sheep and Wool show to get my fix in.
I am going to check out DC yarn shops I think. Recommendations would be good. I do love the galleries though. And Georgetown. And the eateries. And the clothing stores. Oh yes and the city at night. I think Washington is right up there as one of my most favorite cities on the planet. Right up there with London and Boston. Don’t care for New York or Paris at all. Could I be conservative?
This trip will be solo. Which I am also looking forward to. I used to be afraid of being by myself. Eating by myself in coffee shops, going to public places alone. Now I kind of enjoy it. I guess that since I figured out that I can never get rid of me for company, I might as well learn to like myself. Which I do on most days.
As usual, I will bring my knitting and more then I can knit while I am there. Bub will have to tend sheep.
I am looking forward to the change.
